I have experienced life as a journey of many ups and downs. At times I
have been filled with doubts and other negative thoughts. Going from one extreme to another. Feeling some days that
I couldn't feel any worse. To experiencing how fortunate I was to be who and what I really am. To just appreciating
life for how wonderful it truly is! My quality of
life has improved immensely, on and off, since I first started making changes in my overall state of well-being at
17 years old in 1974.
There was a slaughterhouse at the end of our street and it was extremely difficult on many
occasions to hear the cows cries.
When the cows were being delivered to the house of suffering and death. They were
unfortunately on the highway to hell! I sometimes watched how they were forced out of the truck, and some
were kicked or shocked by an electric prod, when they were either too weak, sick or uncooperative to get out
of the truck and into the slaughter house. It seemed obvious that the cows were feeling afraid since they
were sensing that suffering and death was imminent for them. There are so many countless beneficial and truly
spiritual reasons to start reducing the amount of animals and their by-products that you consume. This would
apply for most people that are not living in an arctic region.
I would also look through a window sometimes, to witness how the cows were killed, by an
employee of the slaughter house. One method would be, when the cows come to a squeeze shoot where a air
powered (similar to hydraulics) rod is very swiftly thrust into the animals forehead like shooting with a gun
and they die quickly when done properly. Another method is when cows are hung up by one leg so the carotid
arteries in their necks could be severed to be bled out.
I also found it really disgusting to see and smell the barrels of animal guts outside in the
back of the building.
When people buy and eat animals they are quite often supporting such a cruel, irresponsible
and barbaric industry.
Here is a story I saw on the internet. It is about a bull that cried, when people brought it,
to be killed at the slaughter house and changed many peoples lives.
The Bull Who Cried:
Knowing it was about to be slaughtered, a bull in Hong Kong did what many people fail
to realize or are skeptic about when it comes to animals - he showed emotion.
As reported by "Weekly World News", a group of workers walked a bull to a packaging
factory. They were about to slaughter him to make steaks and beef stews. When they were close to the front door of
the slaughter house, the sorrowful bull suddenly stopped going forward and knelt down on his two front legs. The
bull... was all in tears.
How did he know he was going to get killed before he entered the slaughter house? He
is even smarter than people.
