Self-Realization

The state we call realization is simply being oneself, not knowing anything or becoming anything. If one has realized, he is that which alone is, and which alone has always been. He cannot describe that state. He can only be That. Of course, we loosely talk of Self-realization for want of a better term.

That which is, is peace. All that we need do is to keep quiet. Peace is our real nature. We spoil it. What is required is that we cease to spoil it.

I seriously became interested in zen meditation and self-enquiry recommended by Sri Ramana Maharshi when I was around 21 years old. I felt that there was something about these spiritual wake up calls that I could really sink my teeth into. Although there is really no-thing to become attached to in life.

When I cling to, or get attached to: people, sensual pleasures, junk food, animals, nature, material possessions, such as: cars, houses, computers, movie DVD's, etc., eventually there are feelings of insecurity and dissatisfaction, which is a temporary solution or panacea to fill a hunger or craving I feel inside, which at times seems insatiable.
