CODE OF ETHICS 

 

CONFIDENTIALITY

Coaches ensure that the coaching is 100% confidential between the client and the coach. It is the coach's job to not share any information from the relationship; all information remains strictly confidential unless agreed upon otherwise by both parties. Coaches agree to withhold a clients name and personal information unless the client agrees to have it released. 

PROFESSIONAL RESPECT FOR COACHES 

Coaches will respect and honour the various approaches to coaching and will not speak poorly of other coaches or coaching schools. 

PAYMENT AND AGREEMENTS 

Payment and agreements are to be discussed prior to the first session. Coaches ensure that they explain their services accurately and clarify the understanding of the agreement with the client. 

PROFESSIONALISM WITH CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS 

Coaches provide clients with respect and dignity at all times. The relationship is strictly professional. The coach must ensure that the relationship stays ethical.

HARASSMENT AND DISCRIMINATION 

Coaches must not discriminate or harass their clients. If a conflict of interest arises the coach may refer the client to another coach and cancel the agreement.

MAINTAIN CLIENT GOAL ACHIEVEMENT 

Coaches agree to work in the client's best interest and achieve a steady rate of client goal attainment.

MISREPRESENTATION 

Coaches maintain truth when speaking of their services to clients, groups, the public or the media.

RECORD MANAGEMENT 

Coaches agree to maintain all records safe and confidential. 

MISINTERPRETATION 

Coaches can agree to conduct an introduction session outlining the agreements during the first appointment including the fees involved without misinterpretation about their services or fees to their client.

PLAGIARISM 

Coaches agree to give proper credit to the appropriate sources when credit is due.

MAINTAINING STANDARDS 

Coaches ensure they maintain the highest standards at all times within their coaching practice.

EXPECTATIONS 

Coaches maintain realistic expectations at all times with the client in regards to what they can and can not offer within the coaching.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT 

As a Coach I strive to be as well informed as possible and up to date on the modalities offered on this website.

SELF CARE AND BALANCE 

Personal self care is balance in ones personal and professional life. This may include either; working in a safe and enjoyable environment, monitoring and managing stress, setting limits with ones self and others when appropriate or seeking counselling for personal growth and development.
